What am I – Thonet Bentwood Chairs

What am I?

Here’s your answer to yesterday’s “What am I?” I am Thonet Bentwood Chairs. Designed by Michael Thonet in 1859, the model 14 bentwood chair is still made today by the Gebruder Thonet Company and is one of the world’s most successful commercial products. The Thonet Bentwood chair consists of only 6 components (plus a few screws and nuts). It is a design that has virtually not changed for over 150 years. You will recognize this from numerous cafes that use this simple yet effective chair.

I am posting more Interior Design Brain Teasers to see if you know some of the terms used in Interior Design. It’s all for fun and an easy way to learn new design elements. Feel free to share it with your friends if you think they will be interested in design.
